One Behind: the quiz where you're always one question late

Capital of France? Days in a week? What's 3+2? Questions everyone knows. One Behind adds a single rule that changes everything: you never answer the question on screen, you answer the previous one. Your eyes read the new question while your head holds the old one, and easy questions quickly turn into tongue-twisters.

In typed mode everyone plays at their own pace: the moment you type an answer and press Enter, the next question appears. Each correct answer is 1 point; a wrong one scores nothing but the flow goes on, so you keep holding the question on screen. Pick 60, 90 or 120 seconds; when time runs out, the most correct answers wins. A live scoreboard shows everyone's count as it happens.

In voice mode the host presents and doesn't play: they pick who to ask, read the questions aloud, and the player says the answer to the previous one. A turn ends at the first wrong answer or after 10 questions, and the streak is the score. In ordered play everyone gets the same number of turns; in free play the host asks whoever they like, as often as they like, and ends the game. Voice mode is for the same room or a voice call. In the lobby you pick the mode, the time or flow, and the language (English, Spanish, Turkish).

FAQ

How do you play?

Create a room, share the link and pick One Behind. The first question is only for memorising; press Enter to move on. From then on you type the answer to the previous question, not the one on screen, and a new question appears as soon as you answer. When time runs out, the most correct answers wins.

How does voice mode work?

Voice mode is played in the same room or on a voice call. The host presents and is the only one who sees the questions and expected answers. On your turn, while the host reads a new question, you say the answer to the previous one, and the host taps Correct or Wrong. It needs at least 2 players besides the host.

What if I make a typo?

Capitals, accents and spaces don't matter. For words of five letters or more, a one-letter typo still counts. Type numbers as digits. You get one try per question.

What kind of questions are there?

About 150 hand-written easy questions per language: capitals, days and months, colours, animals, the human body and everyday facts, plus single-digit addition, subtraction and multiplication. No question repeats within a game.
