Just One Clue: a cooperative word game to play online
In Just One Clue the whole table is one team. Each round one player guesses; everyone else sees the secret word and privately writes a one-word clue. Identical clues are wiped out, and the guesser tries to find the word using only the clues that are left.
If everyone writes the obvious clue, they all cancel each other out, so it pays to think a little differently. A correct guess earns the team a point, and your shared score is revealed when the deck runs out. 3-12 players, about 15 minutes.
A free browser option for fans of Just One. Just One Clue is independent and not affiliated with Just One. Create a room, share the code, and your friends join from their phones.
No rivals, just teamwork: everyone plays for the same score.
Duplicate clues are removed automatically, and players can flag similar ones the system misses.
The guesser rotates, so everyone both gives clues and guesses.
The host picks a deck of 8, 13 or 20 words.
How to play
Goal
The table is one team: find the secret words together.
Each round someone is the guesser; everyone gets a turn.
3-12 players; when the deck runs out, your team score is in.
1. Clue
Everyone except the guesser sees the secret word and secretly writes a ONE-word clue.
The secret word itself, a form of it, or its translation in another language is not allowed.
2. Check
Identical clues cancel out: "pizza" and "Pizza" both go.
If the system misses a near-match, the clue givers can mark it and remove it.
3. Guess
The guesser sees only the remaining clues and makes one guess.
Small typos are fine: missing accents, a doubled letter (donkkey) or, in a long word, one wrong letter still counts as right.
Right: team +1. Pass: the word is gone. Wrong: the word is gone and the next word burns too.
