Pour: the fill the glass game online

In Pour every round puts a container on screen: a tumbler, a goblet, a bottle, an hourglass, a round flask… Hold the big button and water runs from the tap. There is one goal: fill it exactly to the brim, not short and not over. It is the fill the glass game you were looking for, and you play it with friends at the same time.

The catch is the curtain. Once the container is partly full, a curtain drops in front of it and you can no longer see the water. The stream goes on, the sound goes on, the rest is your guess. Water always flows at the same rate, but the level depends on the shape: slow in a wide body, suddenly fast in a narrow neck. The pouring sound also rises in pitch as it fills, so a good ear helps.

Everyone fills the same container at the same time on their own screen. You get one hold: the moment you let go, your pour ends. At the reveal every container stands side by side, so you instantly see who came up short and who spilled. Coming up short costs a little, spilling costs more, and hitting 100% earns a Spot on! badge.

FAQ

How do you play Pour?

Create a room, share the link and pick Pour. Each round the container is first shown empty. Then you hold the big button and water flows. After the curtain drops, let go the moment you think it is full. On a computer you can also hold the space bar.

How does scoring work?

Up to 100 points per round. Each 1% short of 100% costs 2 points, each 1% over costs 4. Anything from 99.5% to 100.5% counts as Spot on! After the last round the highest total wins.

When does the curtain drop?

At a different point every round, somewhere between a third and two thirds full. The time to fill also changes from round to round, so counting is not enough: you have to read the shape.

Can I play on my phone?

Yes. The button sits right under your thumb: hold, then let go. Lag does not spoil the result: the server measures the hold too, and when both measurements are close, the one from your screen is used.
